CeraPhi Energy and Weatherford enter into an Exclusive Collaboration Agreement to Advance the Digitalisation of its Global Geothermal Energy Offering

NEWS CeraPhi Energy and Weatherford enter into an Exclusive Collaboration Agreement to Advance the Digitalisation of its Global Geothermal Energy Offering 12 April 2023 CeraPhi Energy and Weatherford have entered into an exclusive collaboration agreement to provide an integrated package of products and services to end users for the development of geothermal energy. Through this agreement, Weatherford will offer its global expertise in Data Acquisition, Digitalisation and Automation Services and CeraPhi will leverage its proven engineering and project management services to provide enhanced geothermal technology solutions to the market. This is an exciting  collaboration, as both CeraPhi and Weatherford are committed to expanding geothermal energy development. Weatherford has decades of experience in geothermal projects and is committed to delivering innovative solutions that integrate proven technologies with advanced digitalisation to create sustainable offerings for maximized value and return on investment. The initial focus of this agreement is to support CeraPhi’s development and existing opportunities of repurposing end-of-life oil and gas wells in the UK and USA. CeraPhi’s first UK commercial demonstrator is underway and is planned to be complete by July 2023. The CeraPhi team is focused on its front-end resource modelling. Weatherford will support the Digitalisation and Data Acquisition of CeraPhi’s patented technology CeraPhiWell™, a closed loop downhole heat exchanger that draws up subsurface heat for different applications for scalable baseload energy, including: · Low Temperature Climatised Agriculture · Medium Temperature Heat Networks · Medium Temperature Heating Systems and Industrial Processes · Desalination and Water Treatment · Power Generation · Green Hydrogen through Electrolysis CeraPhiWell™ is at the heart of CeraPhi’s strategy to de-risk geothermal energy scale-up using end-of-life and non-producing oil and gas wells and prove the “huge commercial potential” for geothermal energy production. In addition, CeraPhi supports efforts to enable access to over 500GW of additional geothermal energy by 2050 in line with the Paris 2050 Climate Accord for carbon reduction. Karl Farrow, CeraPhi CEO, said, “This is a very exciting stage of CeraPhi’s commercialisation and totally in line with our strategic plan to align ourselves with serious execution and delivery partners who believe in the tremendous opportunity for Geothermal and have the ability to scale globally. Scaling the geothermal opportunity is key to reducing cost and making geothermal energy the baseload energy of choice everywhere for everyone. The lessons learnt, services and skills from the oil and gas service sector are key to this transition and Weatherford has been a leader in the field of innovation and technology for data acquisition from wells for many years, which is perfect for this collaboration. This collaboration is a natural fit and could be game-changing for geothermal’s role in the energy transition and have a revolutionary impact on the onshore oil and gas sector’s late life and ‘orphaned’ wells.” Matt Foder, Weatherford Senior Vice President of Innovation and New Energy, commented, “We believe geothermal energy will play an essential role in the energy transition and are proud to have been a leader in delivering results in such projects for more than 25 years. We look forward to collaborating with CeraPhi and leveraging our proven track record of providing digitally enabled solutions to our customers to unlock even greater geothermal energy opportunities.” Geothermal is a form of renewable energy taken from heat derived from the earth’s subsurface, and CeraPhi Energy’s Closed Loop Solution makes geothermal available everywhere and anywhere. Geothermal is one of the cleanest forms of energy and can be applied as a direct power source as well as for heating and cooling utilities. CeraPhi Energy Announces Strategic Partnership and Investment from IGNIS H2 Energy and the Geolog Group

NEWS CeraPhi Energy Announces Strategic Partnership and Investment from IGNIS H2 Energy and the Geolog Group 26 January 2023 CeraPhi Energy are pleased to announces Strategic Partnership and Investment from IGNIS H2 Energy and the Geolog Group to Advance CeraPhi’s proprietary technology and execution strategy within the UK’s heat network sector CeraPhi Energy (CeraPhi) attracts strategic partnership and investment from Ignis H2 Energy Inc. (Ignis) and its sister company Geolog International BV (GEOLOG) in support of the company’s innovative technology development for repurposing end of life Oil and Gas wells extracting thermal energy for commercial use in UK heat networks.  This partnership and strategic investment comes on the back of growing investor confidence in the company’s proprietary CeraPhiWell™ technology and execution strategy within the UK’s heat network sector.  The investment supports the company’s commercialisation plans along with its recent award of significant matched funding from the Net Zero Technology Centre to deploy its CeraPhiTru™ thermal Response Unit on its first site early 2023. The CeraPhiTru™ unit is part of the CeraPhi suite of technology offerings and is designed to model and prove thermal resources already in place.  This is similar to the process employed in the Oil and Gas industry and will model and evaluate the thermal energy in place from deep end of life oil and gas wells, which then provides a quantifiable resource energy value along with unlocking its carbon reduction value. CeraPhi CEO, Karl Farrow said: “Affordable energy, along with the decarbonisation of heat, is one of the greatest challenges we will ever face in the UK. Our dependence on fossil fuels – and the intermittent nature of renewables – cannot provide us with the resilience required within our energy mix. With geothermal, we have a natural heat resource literally everywhere under our feet, and by using existing end of life oil and gas wells to provide a commercial validation of energy – and proving this resource using the existing expertise within the Oil and Gas sector – we plan to fast track access to direct use of heat at a commercial scale making it commercially available for everyone and an integral part of the energy mix.” Richard Calleri, CEO of Ignis and GEOLOG, stated that “This memorandum of understanding, highlighting our mutual interests, is another strategic steppingstone in building Ignis’ geothermal footprint and broadening its spectrum of application into the lower enthalpy environment. With CeraPhi’s focus on repurposing existing oil and gas wells in the European markets, Ignis can bring additional innovative technologies to advance this effort.” About CeraPhi Energy: CeraPhi’s mission is to deliver an impact change to carbon reduction, providing a decarbonising baseload 1-2-1 energy transition solution. Using expertise from years of Oil & Gas production, CeraPhi is tapping into experience and resources to unlock more than six billion years of energy stored under our feet. More about CeraPhi at www.ceraphi.com. About Ignis H2 Energy: Ignis is focused on evaluating and advancing technologies that lead to a sustainable energy path. Ignis is currently assessing and evaluating geothermal opportunities based on their technical, resource sustainability and financial risks with a view to quickly becoming a geothermal power producer in multiple countries. Within this role, Ignis is partnering with companies that offer step change innovations to improve reliability, cost, and efficiency in geothermal energy delivery. The end goal: 100% Green Hydrogen production from geothermal. More about Ignis Energy at www.ignisenergy.com.
