Solutions for Heating, Cooling and Power
Founded in 2020, CeraPhi Energy is a pioneering technology development company on a mission to revolutionise energy usage and contribute to a sustainable planet. Leveraging years of expertise in the oil and gas sector, our dedicated team focuses on innovative solutions for heating and power, utilising deep geothermal energy.
Our Process:
The average global temperature per kilometre of depth is 30C, at CeraPhi, we harness that natural heat generated from the earth’s core by circulating a working fluid through our deep well closed loop system. The working fluid enables heat transfer through conduction and convection to the surface. Our surface system is designed to convert and distribute this energy for the desired application. This could be heating, cooling or power. The system produces zero emission and has a one of the lowest embedded carbon footprints. Importantly, we re-inject 100% of the fluid back into the ground, ensuring sustainability.
Our USP:
We specialise in, but are not limited to, repurposing existing oil and gas wells to harness geothermal energy, creating a significant advancement in how energy can be produced from the heat beneath our feet. CeraPhi was the first company globally to successfully install a deep closed loop, monobore system in a redundant gas well at a commercial scale. Our in-house drilling division allows us to also provide new boreholes tailored to our client needs.
Our Delivery:
We conduct technical feasibility and economic studies across various sectors with high heat demands. As we progress into FEED and installation stages for multiple large clients, our work spans public and commercial sectors, enabling us to consult, design, and implement geothermal solutions while also assisting with financing for upfront capital costs.

With multiple sites in North Yorkshire and development agreements in Eastern Europe and Australia, CeraPhi operates on a global scale. The CeraPhi journey so far.
2020
CeraPhi was founded as a privately owned company in 2020 during the height of the COVID pandemic.
2021
Pioneering designs led to the registration of >30 Novel Innovations in 3 Patents in the UK, Europe, USA, Canada & Australia.
2022
By offering an attractive value proposition the company raised more than £2.7 million in private investment & received over £2 million in grants.
2023
Delivered the world’s first, commercial scale gas well conversion to Geothermal using a closed loop, monobore solution. Acquired Third Energy (including 12 non-producing gas wells) and established CeraPhi Drilling Solutions.
2024
CeraPhi team is now moving toward the deployment of around 15 scalable commercial systems able to deliver carbon free energy to domestic and commercial customers using our monobore closed loop system.
2025 and beyond
With a robust portfolio of projects in the pipeline, CeraPhi is poised to enter 2025 with over £300 million in developments. This not only secures our future but also enhances value for both new and existing clients.
